Close up of the wood base

This shot shows some of the detail on the base. The viewing window in the middle of the converter has an LED that flickers to suggest a chemical process to make elctricity for the lamps. I thought about adding more brass and copper, but I did not want it to look too busy.

Back With Nameplate

Ok....I thought I should sign the pice somehow so I bought brass nameplates for the projects.

Low Voltage Power Supply

The power supply board is converting 6.3 volts AC to 3.3 volts dc. The flicker generator was removed from a votive candle flicker LED. It was designed to run on a 3.3 volt button cell. The board was so small I just attached it to the wall to keeep it out of harm's way.

Switch and Transformer

The the first component in the power side is a 3A fuse to protect the lamps and power supply. Note the wires going into the hole in the front of the base. The wires go into the converter where they are routed to the LED and lamps.

Finished Lamp

I will have to take some better pictures of the finished lamp. The back ground color and lighting will have to be enhanced. I was surprised that the LED can be seen even though I was using flash.
